Canon FA-DC67A Filter Adapter

Finally Canon has suppled a their own Filter Adapter for Canon SX10, SX20 and SX30 Cameras. It's called Canon FA-DC67A Filter Adapter. This Canon FA-DC67A Filter Adapter is perfect for Canon SX10 or SX20 or SX30 Cameras. It's well built and solid. The FA-DC67A Filter Adapter  is designed to move along with the lens while zooming, preventing vignetting at the wide-angle end of the zoom and providing filter coverage throughout the full optical zoom range of the lens.

Downside of this Canon FA-DC67A Filter Adapter is You can only mount 67mm Filters. Which are expensive than  58mm Filters which you can mount with usual Janco 58mm Filter Adapter. Also the price difference between Janco 58mm Filter Adapter and FA-DC67A Filter Adapter. Janco Filter Adapter is only $9 at Amazon.com and FA-DC67A Filter Adapter is around $39.

  1. that is wrong - Sx20 has a smaler tube. FA-DC67 is too big for SX20.

  2. SX10, SX20 and SX30 all 3 of them have same lens barrel size. So if it works for SX30 it works for both SX10 and SX20 too. You can check in Flickr or Canon Forums find SX20 users who use it already. If all of these cameras can use the same 58mm Filter Adapter then all of these can use the FA-DC67 adapter too.

  5. Yes most you can use. Check my SX10 accessory Topic where you can find a list of all accessories you can use for SX10 and SX20. It's same for SX30 too except for batteries.

Also Now there is a Canon 67mm Filter Adapter which you can use for SX10, SX20 and SX30 cameras. You will need to use 67mm filters for it. Only downside is these 67mm filters are more costly than 52mm filters.
