67mm Lens Cap for Canon SX Cameras.

If you are using  a 67mm lens adapter then you can't use your original Lens cap which has comes along with your camera SX camera (SX10, SX20, SX30, SX40 and SX50). So If you are going to by a 67mm lens adapter you need to buy a 67mm lens cap and 67mm lens hood (if you use a hood) along with it too. Good thing is these are not expensive. Also it's just a piece of plastic so you don't have to worry a lot about quality. 67mm lens cap cost only around $5 - $15 depending on you want a branded on or just a lens cap which works on your camera. Whatever lens cap you buy make sure it's a snap on type.

If you like to keep everything original and nice you can buy the Canon E67U 67mm Snap On Lens Cap. This will cost you extra than a usual lens cap so you will need to pay around $15.00 for this one. But it will look nice on your camera with 67mm filter mount. It works fine with both 67mm adapter and 67mm filters and grip well too.It doesn't come with a leash so make sure to get one and attach the lens cap to your camera. You don't want to miss place it which can happen quite easily.

There are unbranded universal snap-on 67mm lens caps you can find for cheaper at Amazon with free shipping. Cost will be around $5 - $10 so it will save you around $5. So if you are not interested in Canon brand or anything just go for one of those.

Look for cheap 67mm snap on lens caps  >>>   Here

It's same if you have a 58mm lens adapter and filters. You will need a 58mm lens cap and 58mm lens hood. These should be cheaper than 67mm items.

Look for 58mm snap on Lens Caps >>>  Here

You must have either 58mm or 67mm lens cap if you going to use filter adapter for your camera. Original one won't work at all. So better you buy one along with your filter adapter.

Lens Protector for Canon SX50 Camera

Canon SX50 Camera is a expensive tool when it comes to point and shoot camera. If you have bought one or going to buy one then  you are going to do a $350+ investment. This is a superzoom bridge camera so the most important part of Canon SX50 is it's 50x lens. If your lens get damaged the whole camera become useless. You might able to repair it by sending to Canon Factory but this can cost you nearly same amount you paid for the camera. Not a great option, does it ? So how you can protect your Canon SX50 camera lens from accident scratches and cracks ?

The cheapest and best way is buying a Lens protector filter along with your SX50 Camera. This is nothing special. It's just a UV filter which will take the damage and save your camera lens. A UV filter cost you only around $20 so it's far more better solution and spending 200-300 USD to repair your camera. All you have to do is mount the UV filter with a filter adapter and then your camera is ready for most outdoor trips you can think of. Also It will keep your lens safe from dust and sand.

Remember you will need to have filter adapter to mount filters on your Canon SX50 camera. There are 2 types of adapters 67mm filter adapter and 58mm filter adapter. Size of UV filter you need to buy depends on your adapter size. 58mm adapter is the cheaper option but I think its better for go 67mm filter adapter. It's bigger and pretty solid. Also Canon has made an filter adapter specifically for Canon SX50 and rest of the superzoom bridge cameras like Canon SX40, Canon SX30 etc. There must be a practical reason for choose 67mm size over 58mm.

Also remember t buy a Lens cap depending on which size adapter and filter you are going to buy. Original Canon SX50 lens cap won't fit with these 2 adapters so you need a new one. But it cost you onlly $5 - $10. not really expensive item. You can add len hood to this list too must not many people use lens hood these days. I don't. Lens hood doesn't make any different for compact camera like this.

There are so many different types and qualities of UV filters. Price can be range from $5 to $100. You don't need an ultra expensive filter for your camera. Just buy good one around $20 or less. You can find plenty of good options at Amazon. But don't forget to read customer reviews. Hoya and B+W are great filter brand. Both brands are good but B+W filters are usually expensive and superior in quality.

This set of  accessories (UV Filter, Filter Adapter, lens Cap) will cost you extra $30 - $50 depending on the quality but spending this will be an very good investment than risking your expensive camera.

Filter Adapters for Canon HS SX50 Camera

Canon SX50 Camera is an superb compact camera with biggest telephoto lens you can find in a compact camera at the moment. But it's lens is built in and the most important part of the camera. If you get a scratch or crack on the lens that would be end of your SX50. Because replacing len gonna cost you nearly as much the cost of camera. So better keep it safe. For that you can use an UV filter. It won't effect your photos and also keep your camera lens safe. These UV filters can be found for less than 20 USD and if you are crazy about quality then you can find high-end UV filters for around 40 USD( There are even more expensive filters but no need something like that for a compact camera.)

You need to buy a filter adapter along with your UV filter so you can  mount it on Canon SX50 Camera. This is something I had hoped to see with Canon SX50 models but they haven't done it. So Still we need an filter adapter for mounting filters on Canon SX50. There are couple of options out there. All cameras in this series has Same size lens. So you can use Same Filter adapter you have used for SX40 or SX30 for this new SX50 too. There are 2 types of filter adapters. 58mm filter adapter and 67mm filter adapter. Recommend you to use 67mm filter adapters because Canon has built a custom filter adapter which works with SX Ultra zoom series. Original Canon adapter is way too expensive, 30 USD but at Amazon you can find similar,  Bower FA-DC67A Ring Adapter for less than 10 USD ! so you can save 20 USD and buy a good UV filter along with it.

Don't go for those cheap Filter packs. You can get better quality accessories when you buy separate.  Get this Bower FA-DC67A Ring Adapter and Search for a Hoya 67mm UV filters. These are very good and doesn't effect photos at all. You can buy an very good one for around 20 USD.b+w 67mm UV filter would best probably the best but it cost you 43 USD. There is a Canon UV Filter too which is around 18 USD but we know Canon do not manufacture filters so they probably buy from somewhere else and print their name on it. I forgot to mention this before, you will need a 67mm lens cap too.
